Dr. Chuong Nguyen, Ph. D
Dr. Nguyen received his doctoral degree in Pharmacology and Toxicology with an emphasis in biotechnology from the University of California, Davis (UC Davis). He received his Master’s training in Stem Cell Research from the California State University, Sacramento (CSUS). His graduate research focus was on how to utilize mesenchymal stem cells and the serotonin signaling pathways to improve chronic non-healing wounds that are common in diabetic patients.
Currently Dr. Nguyen has over 10 years of experience in reviewing the scientific literature and interpreting reports/data, publishing papers in the field of wound healing and stem cell research. He also peer-reviews various journals and has hands-on experience in cancer therapeutic development and genetic engineering. He has contributed to developing cancer therapeutics using engineered stem cells and small interfering RNA. He currently has 3 pending patent applications in wound healing, genetic engineering, and cancer therapy. In addition, his research expertise includes cellular and molecular biology, viral and non-viral genetic modifications, CRISPR/Cas9, primary cell/stem cell extraction, and bioprocess development.
